Nestled in the heart of Tillsonburg Ontario, Hickory Hills is an established adult lifestyle community with much to offer – a terrific location, freehold land, well-built homes with landscaped lots and a community centre with loads of amenities. A few steps from the clubhouse, a pedestrian bridge takes you from Hickory Hills into downtown Tillsonburg where you can shop for groceries, browse the local farmer’s market, pick up a book at the town library or visit the mall. History

The land on which Hickory Hills now stands was originally a tobacco farm owned by the Seres family. The first model home opened in 1986. During that first year, 35 homes were sold and building commenced for Phase 1, with the first street being aptly named Seres Drive. Between 1987 and 1991, Phases 2 to 4 were built. In 1993, Phase 5 started and featured slightly larger homes, many of which now included basements. By the time Phase 7 was completed in 2005, Hickory Hills had 437 units consisting of 384 houses, 40 garden homes and 13 condominiums.

Lifestyle

The focal point of Hickory Hills is the on-site Community Centre for the exclusive use of Hickory Hills residents. The Centre offers a wealth of opportunities for residents to socialize and there is something for just about everyone.

The Community Centre features an outdoor heated pool with a pool-side hot tub. There are also horseshoe pits, indoor shuffleboard courts and an over-sized patio spacious enough to accommodate large parties. Inside you will find a well-stocked library, billiards table, comfortable lounge, games and craft room and a large multi-purpose room for parties, dances and socials. Activities in the Community Centre range from dinner dances, potluck suppers and game nights to regular weekly carpet bowling, card games, exercise classes, bingo and more.
